Teacher's day

 Cause and Effect

Today I went to my university in the early morning. So, today I learned about Cause and Effect text. lt let me know about many things in this text. The text told me about  Cause and Effect is used to show how the facts or concepts result due to facts, events or concept. I had the opportunity to comment about The Titanic which is a tragedy story. I knew about many factors that make the ship was sunken. And I did the exercises with teacher such as the skills practice and the Effects of Stress. Finally, teacher assigned homework to me to do about a spider map  of Effect and Cause. And then, my friends were presenting about procedure next to the last week ago. Finally, it was a nice day for me.

This is a bit of knowledge about Cause and effect.

Everything in life has a cause and an effect. You study for a test you get a good grade. You forget your umbrella when it rains, you get wet. You break a rule you have a consequence.

Kids cause, deal with, and are involved in cause and effect situations every day, all day long; however, they may not know that they are dealing with cause and effect.

It is important for students to know and understand what cause and effect situations are. They should be able to identify an event that is responsible for the cause that resulted in an effect. Identifying these three things can help create analytical thinkers and minds that can work through complex problems. It will also help students socially; they will understand and be more willing to accept the consequences for their actions –whether good or bad.

Key words to help find cause and effect statements: so, because, therefore, since, if, then, so that, without, cause, effect, how, explain.

These words are key because they will help students to identify cause and effect questions and statements as well as be able to write sentences that show the cause and effect relationship.

There can be many causes and effects that are the result of one event, for example:

For example, take David Goes to School by David Shannon. Here are some example questions that use the question stems above.

Using a multi-flow map you can quickly and easily show the event, cause and effect connections. For this story, the event is that David goes to school; the events that connect to this are all the things that happen because David is at school.

So now that you are armed and ready, you and your students should have lots of fun finding those cause and effect connections. Don't forget to look at and recognize those connections...everywhere!

M I D - T E R M   E  X  A  M  S

Today, I had a Mid-term exams in the early morning. I was very excited but I thought, I could do it because I intended to learned and reviewed as a before. Then, it came to exams. I did with the intention. Whether what the result would be? I intended to do it fully. Then, I finished the exams, I had learned. Today teacher gave the answer of homework. And then, my friends were presenting about procedure next to the last week ago. Finally, it was a great time for me.

Homework

 Reacting to the reading

Briefly list some of the different personality traits of men and women, according to the article.

 a. Do you agree with Tannen's views on the subject? Be      specific about your points of disagreement.

Ans :  I agreed with her because men and women have difficulties in communication because they are raised differently.

b.Are any of Tannen's points about the different personalities of men and women true in your native culture? Explain. Do men and women in your native culture use the language the way Tannen claims American men and women do? Give specific examples.

Ans : I think of Tannen's points about

          men

Men experience life as a competition with others is true in my native culture because Most of men have the idea that the competition is really important. When he wins, it means he is the best more than others, it means that he is a strong man with leadership ,Courage and be number one.

        Women

Women often  communicate with others because there are a many thing in her life such as  powerful stories on life, beauty, fashion, love, problems which are the sensitive subject. In my native culture Women are often to gossip about other people, women are often highly sensitive to many things in life. When she has  a problem, she are always looking for people that she loves to wreak suffering, such as friends, parents etc.

Comparison and Contrasts text

Today I had learned the first day after the celebrating New Year's festival in the past.

Today I learned about Comparison and Contrasts text. The purpose of this text told me about a comparison is a similarities between two or more things and contrasts are differences between two or more things. Mostly, Authors used it when they wanted presenting opposite sides of an issue. You job as a reader was to determine what is being compared or contrasted , and the ways in which they were similar or different.

Today I got a lot of knowledge in the text. Well, I think this text was really important for the reader who wanted trying to understand a lot. And then, Teacher ordered the homework to me about procedure ( How to do or make somethings). I got a lot of ways and suggestion from teacher. It was a good time for me.

This is a bit of knowledge about Comparison and Contrasts text.

Compare and Contrast is a text structure or pattern of organization where the similarities and differences of two or more things are explored. It is important to remember that with the compare and contrast text structure the text should be discussing similarities and differences. If the text only discusses similarities, it is only comparing. Likewise, if it only discusses ways that the things are different, it is only contrasting. The text must do both to be considered compare and contrast.

Example: Apples and oranges are both fruits, which means that they have seeds inside of them. Each has a skin, but orange skins are thick and easy to peel. Apple skins are thinner and do not peel easily. Oranges also contain more acid than apples, but both fruits are delicious.

Identifying when the writer is comparing and contrasting is usually not difficult because the speaker will bounce back and forth between two subjects and this pattern is generally pretty easy to recognize.  However, here are some signal words that may indicate that the text is written using the compare and contrast organizational pattern: like, unlike, both, neither, similar, and different.

                                                 Secrets

Today I went to the university at noon Because I had to attend studying in the afternoon.I was afraid to come late. Today, I learned about Secrets story by Tim Winton. I had fun because the story was interesting. In the story, it was about a young girl called Kylie who felt inadequate and lonely by her mother's lack of care and love and the missing father figure in her life. She moved to the new house. She felt left out form her mother and Philip's activities. Kylie was having trouble dealing with her parents break up, she didn't know why her dad had left, it was something she wasn't allowed to know so she feels alone, confused and unhappy, she also had to learn to accept the fact that another man had taken her dads place and that person was Philip. "Mum and Philip laughed or shouted and reminded her that Dad didn't live with them anymore", she didn't really want to think of her dad gone. Kylie was constantly looking at her photo albums; she looked for her dad but could never find him because he was the one that took the photos, which showed that he showed some interest and attention towards Kylie which made her feel special. Compared to Philip, she missed her father even more. Philip hit and abuse her and didn't even know she existed. Kylie thought Philip was a joke and didn't like him and have any respect.Something like that! Today I had fun a lot because I felt easy to understand in learning today.

"Secrets" was about a young girl trying to come to terms with the changes in her family as a new step father takes over the power in her home.

My opinions :

I feel sorry for Kylie because She felt left out form her mother and Philip's activities. and, Kylie was having trouble dealing with her parents break up.

I disapprove of Kylie’s mother because she didn't look after her .

I dislike for Philip because he was cruel which he hit Kylie ,and he didn't to understand Kylie.

What do you feel about the story?

I felt sorry for Kylie because she suffered from loneliness. She felt inadequate and lonely by her mother's lack of care and love ,and the missing father figure in her life.

Kylie’s mother and she was a difference the ages. Kylie's mother and stepfather didn't listen to her problems It might be caused by the difference between the ages.

Coping with the absence of a parent. A Parent should to be  a good example for the children. A Parent should love and look after the child if the child lack of care and love from a parent,It made your child feel worthless and lonely.

The story’s symbols

The eggs    : something that needed to take care from someone.

The well        : the place which was the secrets

The photos : the feeling that made her to remind her     father.

Kylie’s cutting of the photo : Kylie  needed to expressed her feeling in action.
